Does it still make sense, in these turbulent geopolitical times, to organize a benefit evening for a project in distant Benin? The answer is yes—an emphatic yes.
This was demonstrated by the wonderful evening we organized on March 19 at the Cegeka Arena of KRC Genk. For the first time, the Hubi & Vinciane Foundation moved away from its familiar base in Leuven to beautiful Limburg, and the people of Limburg truly lived up to their warm reputation. The venue was filled to the last seat with long-time supporters as well as a new audience that strongly supports the Foundation.
Mayor Wim Dries delivered a warm welcome speech and remained engaged throughout the entire evening. The program succesfully combined substance and culture:

The proceeds from the evening are very encouraging: over €22,000. This amount will be fully dedicated to developing a second maternity center at the hospital in Boko.
The need is significant: birth rates are rising, and the current number of beds is simply insufficient. As in Europe, construction costs in Benin have increased sharply. Additional funding is still needed to complete this project. Thanks to your presence and support, we have nevertheless taken another important step forward.
THANK YOU FOR ALL THE CONTRIBUTIONS
Vandemoortele: 10,000 euros
Together, you have raised 12,085 euros
The Foundation does much more than provide medical care. We are also committed every day to:
Fighting hunger: our malnutrition program has been highly successful, reducing malnutrition rates from 12% to just 1%De Stichting doet echter veel meer. Naast medische zorg zetten wij ons dagelijks in om:
Supporting local agricultural projects to ensure healthy nutrition
None of this would have been possible without the generous support of our main sponsor Vandemoortele, the voluntary commitment of our panelists and musicians, and of course the contagious energy of the large audience.
Thank you for your support. We hope to see you all again next year!
