The Project
Providing quality education requires not only good teachers but also sufficient educational materials. In our working area in Benin, where many classrooms are overcrowded, it becomes even more challenging for teachers when they don’t have the right resources. We support schools with teaching materials that benefit teachers and students.
This project aligns perfectly with our other educational initiatives, such as healthy nutrition, hygiene, and clean drinking water.
Goal
Our aim is to improve learning conditions in schools by providing access to educational materials.
Project Description
In collaboration with local education authorities, we have identified the specific needs of the 100 schools where we are active. Thanks to the support of sponsors and partners in Belgium, we are able to regularly collect and send books, educational posters, and other materials covering all subjects. We have also donated sports equipment and computers.
Additionally, we organize regular training sessions for teachers to help them best use the resources provided.
Results and Progress
We have already donated large quantities of books to the schools we work with. Although these books are not part of the official curriculum in Benin, teachers use them for extra practice and to enhance the student’s general knowledge. Thanks to our donations, some schools, such as the colleges in Komiguéa and Boko, now have well-equipped libraries and computer rooms.
In addition to books and educational posters, we regularly donate sports equipment and clothing to support the physical development of the students.
However, the need for additional support remains significant. Many schools still need educational and sports materials, IT equipment, furniture, and even classrooms.
