The Femmes Ambassadrices de Nutrition (FAN)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We developed the ambassador system to embed our various projects and activities on healthy nutrition in the local villages. In these villages, we look for women motivated to take on the role of nutrition ambassador or Femme Ambassadrice de Nutrition (FAN).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the FAN project, we want to strengthen the knowledge and skills of local communities so that they become more resilient and more potent in their fight against malnutrition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Project<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

By 2024, we will have trained more than 400 women as Femmes Ambassadrices de Nutrition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project Description<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In each village, we work with several FANs, each managing a group of about 20 women.
FANs are first trained by our nutritionist and receive regular refresher training. Topics covered during this training include nutrition for infants and young children, nutrition for pregnant women, nutrition for breastfeeding women, food hygiene and safety, screening for acute malnutrition and treatment of moderate acute malnutrition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To realize the various trainings and courses, we work intensively with the health zone management team, state health workers and nutrition points in town halls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Results and Evolution<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

By mid-2023, we have already trained 220 FANs in various villages.
The positive effects are already being felt. When we screen children between 6 and 59 months, we identify fewer and fewer new cases of severe malnutrition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We need support materials to conduct training and continuing education sessions in a high-quality manner. These include bracelets to measure the brachial circumference and educational posters that vividly present the topics covered.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

My name is N'SARE Th\u00e9r\u00e8se, I'm a student at the public primary school of BONSI group B, I'm 12 years old and I'm going to CM2 class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the 2018-2019 school year, I have been selected by the HUBI Foundation and VINCIANE to be one of the 4 Female Nutrition Ambassadors (FAN). Our role is to ensure good nutrition, hygiene and maintenance of the school garden. To do this, we pass on awareness messages to our classmates on healthy and balanced nutrition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also educate our school's saleswomen about balanced meals. For this purpose we have organized a meeting with all the saleswomen in collaboration with the Foundation's Nutrition Animator, the director and the teacher in charge of nutrition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this meeting, we asked the saleswomen to improve the meals they present to us. Together we also found ways to improve the meals. The meeting led to a good result because most of our saleswomen improved their meals. The Wassa Wassa (yam cossette couscous) saleswoman now adds vegetables and soy cheese or small fish to her meal. The porridge porridge saleswoman, on the other hand, has enriched the porridge with soy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

All of us like the much more balanced meals that the saleswomen are currently presenting to us. I am very happy to be one of the Daughters' Ambassadors for Nutrition and for all the projects that the Foundation has carried out in our school. Thanks to her, we have toilets, hand washing facilities (TYPPI TAP), a garden etc. In addition to this, she works for the improvement of our nutrition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can see that all this will contribute to our health and success.
