To secure food and income throughout the year – during both the dry and the rainy season – more and more farmers are combining crop cultivation with livestock or poultry farming<\/strong>. Especially for those who do not yet have a nearby water well, this combination makes a significant difference. Moreover, sheep manure can be used to enrich the soil and improve crop yields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During their information sessions and workshops, our agricultural technicians continuously highlight the importance of this combination. But to give farmers a real opportunity to put this into practice, our Foundation decided a year ago to offer them a concrete boost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In both 2024 and 2025, we provided eight women with a vegetable garden, four ewes and one ram. The first results are promising: the women are successfully breeding new animals and seeing higher yields in their gardens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2026, we will expand this initiative by giving twenty more sheep to four additional women. The principle remains the same: those who receive sheep will later pass on lambs to other families. This is how a solidary, self-sustaining network gradually takes shape. Our agricultural technicians ensure that the redistribution is carried out fairly and correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We use the same model with chickens. In 2025, we distributed 150 hens and roosters to 30 women, who will, in turn, pass on chicks to other families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is exactly what our Foundation stands for: sharing knowledge, empowering people, and providing an initial material lever to enable sustainable, locally rooted systems to grow.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
