A Green Tradition for More Than 40 Years<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For more than forty years, Benin has celebrated National Tree Day on June 1. On this occasion, government authorities, schools, and local NGOs join forces to organize large-scale tree-planting campaigns. The goal is to combat deforestation and help build a greener future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

550 Trees for Ten Schools<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our agricultural specialists are also doing their part. In celebration of National Tree Day, they are distributing no fewer than 550 young trees to ten schools. One of the beneficiaries is Baka-C Primary School. The school administration, members of the parent association, and representatives of the local authorities enthusiastically welcomed the donation and actively participated in the planting activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shade, Protection, and Fruit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout June, the other schools will also receive various tree species, including gmelina, cashew trees, and African mahogany (ca\u00eflc\u00e9drat). These trees will not only contribute to reforestation efforts but will also serve as natural windbreaks in the years to come. In addition, they will provide cooling shade in schoolyards and, in the case of the cashew trees, produce edible fruit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
