La Fondation HUBI &VINCIANNE<\/strong> \u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 fond\u00e9e en 1982 en m\u00e9moire du docteur Hubi (Hubert) Adriaens<\/strong>, Docteur-Directeur de l\u2019h\u00f4pital de brousse de Papan\u00e9 (B\u00e9nin) et de sa fianc\u00e9e, Vinciane Van Assche<\/strong>,qui enseignait au coll\u00e8ge de Tchaorou durant ses s\u00e9jours au B\u00e9nin lors de ses visites \u00e0 Hubi. Tous deux p\u00e9rirent dans un accident au cours d\u2019un voyage de retour vers la Belgique. Leur \u201d r\u00eave\u201d pour le B\u00e9nin continua par leurs familles, qui cr\u00e9\u00e8rent la Fondation Hubi & Vinciane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019id\u00e9e de fonder un h\u00f4pital \u00e0 BOKO vint en 1966 des soeurs Trappistes de l\u2019ordre des Cisterciens.Elles \u00e9taient \u00e9tablies dans la r\u00e9gion depuis 1961 et recevaient de plus en plus de demandes de soins m\u00e9dicaux. La population de Tinr\u00e9 leurs offrit un terrain de 13 ha. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019h\u00f4pital Saint Jean de Dieu a \u00e9t\u00e9 financ\u00e9 depuis le d\u00e9but pour une grande partie gr\u00e2ce au soutien de l\u2019 Europe. Depuis 1996 sa direction et son organisation sont compl\u00e8tement dans les mains des B\u00e9ninois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En Avril 2000, le petit h\u00f4pital de Boko fut reconnu comme \u00abzone h\u00f4pital\u00bb de la zone sanitaire Parakou-N\u2019Dali . Depuis lors il peut compter sur une subvention partielle de l\u2019Etat du B\u00e9nin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019h\u00f4pital Saint Martin \u00e0 Papan\u00e9 est plus ou moins semblable \u00e0 celui de Boko. Il fut fond\u00e9 en 1972. Initialement il connut des d\u00e9buts difficiles et son activit\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 interrompue \u00e0 plusieurs reprises. Le fondateur,le docteur Franken de sant\u00e9 pr\u00e9caire a d\u00fb apr\u00e8s peu de temps \u00eatre \u00e9vacu\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Son successeur, le docteur Jean-Paul Van Liefferinge,futur administrateur de la Fondation, avait d\u00fb rentrer temporairement avec sa famille en Belgique pour la naissance de son deuxi\u00e8me enfant vu l\u2019absence de soins sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s sur place.<\/p>\n\n\n

Dr. Hubi<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A ce moment intervient Hubi dans l\u2019histoire de l\u2019H\u00f4pital Saint-Martin. En 1978 il s\u2019\u00e9tait pr\u00e9par\u00e9 \u00e0 interrompre son stage en sp\u00e9cialisation chirurgie pendant plusieurs mois pour remplacer Jean-Paul \u00e0 Papan\u00e9. En mars 1979, il aimait tant son travail qu\u2019il s\u2019\u00e9tait port\u00e9 candidat pour prendre en charge le poste de m\u00e9decin-administrateur. Pour ses collaborateurs et ses patients Hubi \u00e9tait devenu le pivot dans l\u2019expansion de l\u2019h\u00f4pital. Travailleur infatigable, il a donn\u00e9 \u00e0 ses collaborateurs un sens de responsabilit\u00e9 professionnelle.<\/p>\n\n\n

Vinciane<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sa fianc\u00e9e Vinciane Van Assche porta un grand int\u00e9r\u00eat aux conditions difficiles dans lesquelles vivaient les jeunes filles et les femmes et lors de ses visites Hubi elle a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 leurs donner cours au Coll\u00e8ge d\u2019Enseignement G\u00e9n\u00e9ral de Tchaourou pour pallier \u00e0 la p\u00e9nurie d\u2019enseignants en se concentrant sur l\u2019\u00e9ducation des jeunes filles .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette collaboration brillante connut une fin tragique au d\u00e9c\u00e8s d\u2019 Hubi et Vinciane le 16 Novembre 1981 lors d\u2019un accident d\u2019avion. Ce voyage avait pour but de rencontrer le ma\u00eetre de stages de Hubi en Belgique afin de poursuivre sa sp\u00e9cialisation en chirurgie en mars 1982. Ils avaient l\u2019intention de pr\u00e9parer leur mariage . Cette tournure dramatique a d\u00e9stabilis\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9quilibre fragile et lentement acquis de la structure et du fonctionnement de l\u2019h\u00f4pital \u00e0 Papan\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il a d\u2019abord \u00e9t\u00e9 question de fermer l\u2019h\u00f4pital, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce que la Fondation Hubi & Vinciane redonne une deuxi\u00e8me vie en 1982 \u00e0 l\u2019engagement de Hubi et Vinciane: travailler \u00e0 un avenir meilleur pour les plus pauvres dans la r\u00e9gion de Parakou au B\u00e9nin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce qui avait \u00e9t\u00e9 commenc\u00e9 par Hubi en soutenant l\u2019h\u00f4pital,par Vinciane \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole, a depuis lors pu \u00eatre d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 dans un large \u00e9ventail d\u2019activit\u00e9s dans les domaines de la sant\u00e9, d\u2019\u00e9ducation et d\u2019agriculture dans un but de d\u00e9veloppement r\u00e9gional int\u00e9gr\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A ce jour, la Fondation Hubi et Vinciane grandit avec ambition et d\u00e9veloppe d\u2019 intenses partenariats!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
