In early September, around forty young people took part in the Camp des Juniors Entrepreneurs, an initiative of the NGO Ariziki CPID (Cooperation for a Sustainable Impact), organised with the support of Enabel. During the camp, the Ariziki team introduced participants to entrepreneurship in a fun and hands-on way – and, above all, to sustainable, eco-responsible behaviour.

Waste management is a significant challenge in Benin.
That’s why recycling played a central role in the programme. In the agroecology workshop, the participants learned how to turn organic waste into compost and use it in hanging gardens. Another workshop showed them how to give plastic and other discarded materials a second life by transforming them into valuable objects.
The camp aims to raise young people’s awareness of the importance of environmental protection and to show them that recycling can become not only a daily habit, but also a source of creativity and economic opportunity. By encouraging them to become true “environment ambassadors” within their families and communities, the NGO CPID is planting the first seeds of ecological citizenship – for a greener, more united and more responsible future.
