The children of Sint-Niklaas Elementary School in Leest walk for a good cause!

On April 2, 2025, nearly 150 enthusiastic and motivated students from Sint-Niklaas Elementary School in Leest walked an impressive 8 kilometres in support of an elementary school in Benin, West Africa. Only the youngest kindergarteners stayed at school.

The children asked their parents and family to sponsor them so they could raise money for the construction of a water well or the creation of a vegetable garden. And they succeeded! They raised no less than 4 500 euros.

The Hubi & Vinciane Foundation will immediately use the money in one of the schools they work with. Thanks to the children from the elementary school in Leest, a school in Benin now has access to drinkable water!

This fantastic initiative shows the power of cooperation and the impact that even young children can have on the world. We are incredibly proud of the dedication and enthusiasm of the students of Sint-Niklaas School and their families. It is inspiring to see a community come together to make a difference.

Let us continue to strive for a better future for all children, wherever they are in the world. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this great result!
