In Tchaourou, Houdou Baranon harvested over 40 bags of paddy rice from just two hectares. He achieved this thanks to our technical and material support through ProCAD (Programme Cadre d’Appui à la Diversification Agricole) and farmer schools.
Thanks to the Smart Valley approach, Houdou has optimized the use of available water. Thanks to the bio-mineralization kit, he makes his natural fertilizer, dispensing with chemical fertilizers.
Houdou grows rice, corn, soybeans, cassava and lentils. This is how he spreads out his sources of income. With the proceeds, he has invested in a mill, a mower and a sprinkler so that he can work even more efficiently in the future.
Houdou Baranon is not alone. Many of his colleagues in Tchaourou and N’dali have switched to agroecology. This approach is transforming rural communities.
