United for Breastfeeding: The Foundation Takes Action

Breastfeeding is more than just a choice. It gives every child a healthy start. And it protects the mother. Our Foundation knows how important that is.

During World Breastfeeding Week 2025, the Foundation set Parakou in motion. Because breastfeeding practices there can still improve.

At the municipal health center, one hundred mothers received hands-on advice. How to make breastfeeding easier. How to overcome challenges. Five exemplary mothers were honored for their dedication.

And the campaign didn’t stop there.

Mosques and churches were also visited. A smart move, since these are places where the entire community comes together. Not just mothers, but fathers, families, and religious leaders. Everyone needs to understand, encourage, and support.

And the results speak for themselves.

Nearly 2,000 people received the message. A big step toward communities where every child gets the best start in life. And every mother feels supported in this vital act.

In het gemeentelijk gezondheidscentrum kregen honderd moeders praktische tips. Hoe borstvoeding vlotter kan. Hoe je hindernissen overwint. Vijf voorbeeldmoeders werden beloond voor hun inzet.

En de campagne ging verder.

Ook moskeeën en kerken werden bezocht. Slim, want daar komt de hele gemeenschap samen. Niet alleen moeders, maar ook vaders, families en religieuze leiders. Iedereen moet begrijpen, aanmoedigen en steunen.

Het resultaat mag er zijn.

Bijna 2.000 mensen kregen de boodschap mee. Een mooie stap naar gemeenschappen waar elk kind sterk kan starten. En elke moeder zich gesteund voelt in dit levensbelangrijke gebaar.
