The year 2025 has started well for the hundreds of students at six elementary schools in Tchaourou and N’dali.
Thanks to newly constructed wells in the schools of Warikpa, Dankritonou, Dourbé, Worogui-goura, Komiguéa and Teou-Kpara, students and staff no longer have to worry about diseases from drinking contaminated water
The Hubi & Vinciane Foundation constructed the wells with Rotary Leuven-Rotselaar, Rotary Parakou and Rotary Cotonou Cocotiers. With the support of the Rotary Foundation’s second Global Grant, almost 70% of our partner schools now have access to clean potable water.
Each well has solar panels and two water tanks, totalling 6,000 litres. The water is there for everyone: students drink from it and it is used for hand hygiene and to wash vegetables for the school canteens. Local families can also use the pumps.
Together, we continue to work for better health in schools and in the community.
Our dream? All the schools we work with will have access to clean water and the local communities.
