During the working visit at the beginning of February, a delegation of the Foundation was received by Mr Xavier Leblanc, Belgian Ambassador for Benin and Togo, in his official residence in Cotonou.
Tijdens het werkbezoek van begin februari werd een delegatie van de Stichting ontvangen in de ambtswoning van de ambassadeur van België in Cotonou. De ambassadeur toonde bijzonder veel interesse in de activiteiten van de Stichting.
The Ambassador, who has been familiar with the Foundation’s activities for some time, showed great interest in the progress of the various projects. He also stressed the decisive character of the Foundation: unlike many other organisations, our Foundation does not stop at words, but plans and projects are realised.
A week later, the Ambassador visited the Innov’Action Centre of our Foundation in Parakou. The local team in Benin had prepared the visit and was a little nervous.
After the introduction and welcome, the team presented the different projects and actions of the Foundation in Parakou, Tchaourou and N’Dali since its creation in 1982 until today.
The Ambassador listened with interest and asked several questions. In the centre, he was able to see the test facilities of the Aquaponics project. As a souvenir of his visit, he wrote a short note in the guestbook of the Foundation.
After the performance, the Ambassador thanked the local team members for their work. “What you are doing here is wonderful”, he commented “We support you and will continue to do so.”
At the end of the visit, the Head of Education of our Foundation, Antoinette Chabi, thanked the Ambassador for his visit. She stressed the team’s commitment to work even harder to achieve the Foundation’s goals. “We want to make Hubi and Vinciane’s dream in Benin a reality, and we will continue to do so,” she concluded.
