Digitalization of the Malnutrition Program

Child malnutrition remains a significant challenge in Benin, especially among children under the age of five. Thanks to the efforts of the Hubi & Vinciane Foundation, the percentage of undernourished children in our intervention areas has decreased from 12% to 1.52% since 2019. However, traditional screening methods make providing rapid and accurate follow-up care for children difficult. This is why digitalizing the process is crucial.

Using digital tools, we aim to enhance the detection, monitoring, and treatment of malnourished children to maximize our impact.

Transitioning from manual to digital screening accelerates processes and improves data accuracy. Digital tools provide:

  • Faster action: Real-time data collection enables immediate and targeted interventions.
  • Greater precision: Fewer errors and a better understanding of children’s needs.
  • Smart data analysis: Health workers can act more effectively and make informed decisions.

With this technology, every child can receive the care they deserve.

While the project is still in its early stages, its potential is immense. Once implemented, this system will:

  • Provide intensive and precise monitoring of vulnerable children.
  • Enable faster medical interventions where needed.
  • Create opportunities to expand the program to other regions in Benin, significantly reducing child malnutrition across the country.

Currently, the funds required to develop and implement this project are lacking. The search for funding continues, and donations are more than welcome. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of children in need.
